Hello! My name is Deon Posey. I'm a Software Developer and Data Analyst originally from Indianapolis, now based in Phoenix. I have a robust portfolio in data science and web development.
I am also currently the author and sole owner of the 'snaggr' Python package -an easy and reliable way for data engineers to create correctly labeled datasets for Natural Language Processing.
My journey began with a fascination for computer science, electronics, and software, which led me to pursue a career where I could blend analytical rigor with creative problem-solving. I have a strong background in computer science, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals, having been certified in computer repair by the J. Everett Light Career Center since 2012. Starting on the hardware side of the tech industry, my first introduction into programming was writing a for-loop on an Arduino microcontroller to control LED lights. Since then, my skills as a programmer and, more importantly, a problem solver have expanded exponentially. I now utilize several programming languages to accomplish various tasks.
Over the years, I've developed expertise in using libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation, sklearn, pytorch and tensorflow for training machine learning models, and frameworks such as Django, Flask, and Node.js to create interactive web applications. Whether it is deploying machine learning models to predict trends, writing code for interacting with sensors and controlling electronics, or crafting user-friendly websites, my goal is to make technology both accessible and powerful.
